Olsen, Johnson, Hill lead Glacier netters at Missoula
MISSOULA — Glacier’s Brittyn Olsen, McKenna Johnson and Libby Hill were all 2-0 on the day in Western AA tennis dual action with Helena Capital and Helena High.
Olson, at No. 2 singles, won by 6-3, 6-3 and 6-2, 7-6 (5) scores on Saturday.
Johnson and Hill, at No. 2 doubles, won 6-3, 6-4 and 6-0, 6-2.
The Glacier girls beat Capital 4-3, but lost 5-3 to Helena High.
The Glacier boys lost to Helena High 8-0 while the match with Helena Capital was rained out after one match was completed in doubles play.
“Brittyn played really well,” Glacier coach Josh Munro said.
“She played the longest match of the day by far. She played through all seven of the other girls matches and at least four of the boys. She fought.”
That was the 6-2, 7-6 (5) win over Britta Biade of Helena High.
“We’re still playing with different pairings, trying to figure out combinations,” Munro said.
“Several kids got their first match of the year today. It was nice to see how they played. That was a positive.”
Glacier was set to also play Missoula Sentinel in a dual, but that one was rained out.
Flathead was also in Missoula for AA dual action. The Braves lost to Missoula Hellgate 7-0 and the Bravettes fell 7-1 to the Knights.
