Victoria M. Tronstad, 63

| April 8, 2017 7:43 PM

Vicky passed away peacefully at her home on April 3, 2017, from complications of multiple sclerosis which she dealt with for more than 20 years.

Vicky was born April 14, 1953, to Florence and William Sutherland in Kalispell. She attended St. Matthew’s grade school and graduated from Flathead High School in 1971. Vicky worked at the Coast to Coast store, Sutherland Cleaners, and Harmons Dress Shop.

Vicky married Mike Tronstad Aug. 8, 1972. Vicky was a talented artist and loved to design and decorate her home. She was a good cook and liked to entertain family and friends. She also was an excellent pianist, and bowler. It was a sad day when she had to give these up due to her illness.

Vicky loved children, raising two of her own, Bryan and Michelle, and also volunteered with Big Brothers Big Sisters in the ‘80s. She worked with youth groups and Sunday school at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in the ‘80s and ‘90s. Her illness caused significant disability for a number of years, but to her credit she remained mostly positive and upbeat even as her symptoms worsened over the years.

Vicky is survived by her mother Florence Sutherland, her husband Mike Tronstad, son Bryan (Lusha) Tronstad of Laramie, Wyoming, and their children Tresize and Everett, daughter Michelle (Dan) Hodge, and their children Spencer and Riley, sisters Shari Sutherland of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Judy (Doug) LaCroix, brothers Greg (Raelene) Sutherland of Puyallup, Washington, Steve Sutherland and fiancé Cris Coughlin and numerous nieces and nephews.

Vicky was preceded in death by her father William Sutherland, a sister-in-law Brith Sutherland, and her mother and father-in-law Al and Mavis Tronstad.

A memorial service for Vicky will be held at 11 a.m. on April 25, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with a lunch to follow.

Memorial gifts can be given to Hope City, a ministry supporting the local homeless, 675 Hoffman Draw Kila, MT 59920; The Flathead Food Bank; or a charity of the donor’s choice.
