Man heard bullet whiz by his head

A man described as a “grumpy old drunk” allegedly opened the door to his trailer and shot at a man about 60 feet away, missing him by about a foot. The alleged victim told Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies he heard the bullet “whiz by his head.”

A woman reported being followed by a driver who pulled up behind her when she pulled over. The man reportedly got out of his vehicle, put gloves on and put one finger to his mouth, signaling for the woman to be quiet as he ran toward her on foot. While on the phone with deputies, the woman was advised to drive away. She told dispatch she recognized the man from previous encounters.

Someone’s garage was reportedly broken into on Hungry Horse Blvd.

A Rottweiler/pit bull mix was reported missing from his home on Ferndale Drive after he allegedly jumped a fence and escaped.

A car was reportedly stolen from Smith Lake Road. The owner said the car was almost out of gas.

Someone reported a party on Colorado Avenue after residents were reportedly getting too loud. The reporting person told Whitefish Police this was an ongoing problem that the management of the property would not address.

When approached about littering and urinating in a parking lot, an elderly man allegedly said he was “under a lot of pressure.”

A woman arrived at a barbershop for her hair appointment to find the door open but the place deserted. The walker-bound woman’s husband left her at the shop to report the incident to the Columbia Falls Police. Upon investigation, authorities found the owner of the shop had left town the day before. Neighbors said they would have the landlord lock up the shop.

A group of men was reportedly sitting on the stairs of a church drinking, according to a Kalispell Police report.

A man’s wallet was allegedly stolen out of his car on West California Street.

A house one East Center Street was reportedly broken into and trashed.
