City council makes annual appointments
Monday’s Kalispell City Council meeting yielded 18 newly filled board and committee positions, which were set to expire at the end of this month.
In the mayor’s absence, the council reviewed his recommendations and unanimously approved his appointments.
New appointees include:
Board of Adjustment — Robert Smith and Mark Mussmen
Conrad Mansion Board — Sue Corrigan
Economic Revolving Loan Fund Committee — Mark Hensley
Impact Fee Committee — Jeff Zauner, Justin Ahmann and Brandon Theis
Planning Board — Doug Kauffman, Steve Lorch and Rory Young (county position)
Police Commission — Sam Herbert
Street Tree Committee — Terence Richmond, Tony Nelson and Judy Rosenfeld-Cox
Technical Advisory Committee — Mark Munsinger
Tourism Business Improvement District — Janet Clark and Shawn Campbell
Urban Renewal Agency Board — David Girardot
Pam Carbonari spoke on behalf of the Business Improvement District Board, asking council to delay the vote for BID board members to May 1. She also asked the city to place a legal ad in the paper and advertise the news on the city social media sites to allow applicants additional time to apply.
IN OTHER business, council approved the second reading of the B-3 Core Area Rezoning Project.
President Jim Atkinson read the mayoral proclamation deeming April 28 Arbor Day in Flathead County.
Councilor Rod Kuntz spoke regarding the mural in the council chambers and his frustration that the picture is of a location in Glacier Park as he feels it should reflect Kalispell. He suggested having a new mural done and auctioning off the old one.
The next council work session is April 24 and will include council discussion on impact fees.
Budget discussions for the 2018 fiscal year were scheduled for May 8, 10 and 11.
The next regular council meeting is May 1.
