| April 20, 2017 2:00 AM

An annual Whitefish tradition, the Project Whitefish Wine and Food Fest, is set for Wednesday, May 3 from 6-9 p.m. at the Grouse Mountain Lodge in Whitefish.

This year marks the 28th annual year for the event, which is themed “Rocky Mountain Rendezvous” this time around. The annual event raises funds to support youth in the community through sports and the performing arts. All proceeds go to Project Whitefish Kids, the organization that maintains the Smith Fields Sports Complex for several sports teams, and the Whitefish Theatre Company.

Cuisines from local restaurants will be served, including Logan’s Bar and Grill, Loula’s, Latitude 48, Last Chair Kitchen & Bar, Pig & Olive, Stumptown Market Bakery and Whitefish Lake Restaurant. A wide selection of wine and other drinks will also be available.

Silent and live auction items include original art, a SONOS speaker system, custom-made gourmet dinners, weekend getaways to Las Vegas and Flathead Lake, a hot air balloon ride, golfing extravaganzas, sporting equipment, wine, restaurant gift certificates, health and pampering specials, theater tickets, ski lift tickets, a quarter of a cow, garden and home decorating packages, outdoor adventure events and more. There is also a week-long safari package along the northern cape of South Africa.

Seating is limited to 200, and tickets are $70 per person, including all food and beverages. Tickets can be purchased in Whitefish at The Village Shop, Imagination Station and the O’Shaughnessy Center. They can also be purchased online at www.whitefishtheatreco.org.
