Dog pile brawl results in bloody bat, no arrests

Kalispell police responded to a report of multiple assault victims Thursday afternoon after a fight involving a bloody baseball bat allegedly broke out between four people at the intersection of Seventh Avenue East and 10th Street East.

Coaching a tennis team nearby was Noelle Sedder, 18, who said she witnessed the incident.

Sedder reported seeing a “dog pile” of two men and two women fighting on the hood of a white pickup. She said the dog pile moved into the road where a dog jumped on top and began acting aggressively.

Sedder called 911 and while she was on the phone, she said one man brandished a bat and started swinging.

By the time police arrived, Sedder said one woman with a bloody face had gotten the bat away from the man and began chasing him with it.

Responding officers noted that the baseball bat was bloody and one of the men involved had a bump on his head.

Police said the matter is under investigation and that no arrests had been made or charges filed as of Thursday evening.
