“When I was a little girl and didn’t want to go to sleep, my Daddy and I would play a game called Who Loved Who More. I love you bigger, I would say and he would respond, I love you wider. I love you taller, I love you deeper. Well, Dad, I guess I win this round because I will love you longer,” his daughter Misty Lane said.

William L. Smithson, 87, passed peacefully Easter Sunday 2017 with his daughter by his side in Nampa, Idaho. His funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on May 1 at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery located in Boise, Idaho.

The Flathead was where Bill always considered home. A memorial picnic/potluck will be held to celebrate his life at 11 a.m. on July 4 at Volunteer Park in Lakeside at the picnic shelter, open to all that knew and loved this wonderful man.
