From drug and alcohol use to the latest trends in social media, STOP Underage Drinking in the Flathead Coalition wants to share the power of positive influence parents, guardians and grandparents have on teenagers in a public forum Wednesday.

The public is invited to attend “Understanding Trends in Teen Behavior,” at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Kalispell Middle School cafeteria.

Burket Kniveton of the Center for Restorative Youth Justice will talk about the adolescent brain and the psychology of high risk behavior. Kari Gabriel, director of Flathead CARE, will offer information and ideas about prevention activities for your teen. A question-and-answer session will follow the presentations.

The presentation is meant to help adults be well-informed and to have vital, age appropriate conversations with youth about making healthy decisions in regard to drugs and alcohol.
