Leadership Flathead applications due

Applications for the Kalispell Chamber of Commerce’s leadership development program, Leadership Flathead, are due to leadershipflathead@kalispellchamber.com by 5 p.m. on May 1.

Since its inception in 1990, Leadership Flathead has seen over 700 individuals from more than 200 local businesses complete the program, many of whom are now engaged in the community through elected offices, on government committees and boards, as heads of local non-profit organizations, or as stronger leaders in the organizations with which they work.

Throughout the course of the program a variety of custom designed sessions from community and industry leaders focus on topics such as education and workforce training, public safety, culture and tourism, human services, and planning, growth and government. Applicants will be notified of their acceptance into the program in July and will begin the program’s two-year commitment with an overnight development retreat in September, followed by nine monthly skills-building sessions through June 2018.

Spring Whitefish Chamber luncheon to focus on tourism

Glacier National Park Superintendent Jeff Mow, Whitefish Mountain Resort CEO Dan Graves, and Whitefish Convention and Visitors leader Dylan Boyle will be the featured speakers at the Whitefish Chamber’s Spring Luncheon, set for Wednesday, May 3 at the Grouse Mountain Lodge.

“Tourism 2017” will take a look back at the recently completed ski season, and look ahead to what’s promising to be an extremely busy summer in northwestern Montana.

Assistance for Business Clinic

The Kalispell Chamber of Commerce Convention and Visitor Bureau will be having an Assistance for Business Clinic from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, May 4, at the Hilton Garden Inn in Kalispell.

The Assistance for Business Clinics are designed to assist new and established employers, accountants, bookkeepers, human resource professionals and lawyers to proactively prevent unnecessary claims and/or charges by providing updated reporting of state withholding, UI Tax requirements, workers’ comp. coverage, minimum wage, overtime, new hire reporting, income withholding orders, USERRA laws and regulations and to provide recruitment strategies and resources, and tax and hiring incentives.

Continuing education credits are available for: CPE, CLE, SHRM, HRCI. Please indicate in the comment section of your registration if you need credits.

Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. and a lunch is included.
