WHITEFISH — The Glacier boys and girls swept a rainy day at the A.R.M. Invitational track and field meet on Saturday at Whitefish High School.

Wolfpack junior Annie Hill won the 400 and 800 by comfortable margins as her team took the top three spots in the longer of the two middle distance races.

Nikki Krueger continued her strong performance this spring in the throws, winning both the shot put and discus in soupy conditions in the throwing pits.

Glacier also won both hurdles and both relays at the meet.

Bigfork’s Haile Norred helped the Valkyries to a third place team finish, winning both the 100 and 200 to sweep the sprints.

Columbia Falls finished second as a team as Angelica Street picked up the only individual win for the Wildkats, throwing the javelin a meet-best 111 feet, 8 inches.

The Glacier boys sped to another team title on the strength of their top-end runners.

The Wolfpack won the 100, 400 and 800 and nearly eclipsing their relay record in the 4x100 set last year.

Hunter Nicholson added an event win in the triple jump and Tadan Gilman in the shot put to add to the achievements on the track.

Columbia Falls finished second as a team, picking up event wins from Sage Wanner (1,600), Michael Hoerner (110 hurdles), Ben Windauer (pole vault) and Logan Stephens (long jump). Polson placed third.

Skor-DeKam Invitational

HELENA — The Flathead boys finished third at a tough Skor-DeKam Invitational track meet.

The Braves were led by junior Dawson Rinehart, who won the 300 hurdles in a season-best time of 39.93 seconds. That time is the third-fastest in the state this season and the fastest in Class AA.

Braves jumper Andy Thomas placed in three different events, finishing in the top six in the high jump, long jump and triple jump.

Flathead distance runners Ben Perrin (1,600 and 3,200) and Jaden Anderson (800 and 1,600) placed twice as did Micah Bucy (200 and high jump) and Chad Hemsley (110 hurdles and 300 hurdles).

Billings West edged host Helena High for the team title, led by senior Bryson Deming, who took the shot put and discus. Great Falls C.M. Russell’s Damien Nelson swept the sprints, cruising in the 100 and outleaning Helena’s Zander Mozer by a hundredth of a second to win the 200.

Billings Senior’s Dawson LaRance won both the 400 and 3,200.

The Bozeman girls used their depth at the meet to top Billings Senior by one point for the team title.

Great Falls’ Morgan Evans was the star of the day, winning the 100 dash, 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles. She notched school and meet records in the 100 and 100 hurdles.
