Elva Irene 'Todd' Johnston Kinniburgh Miller, 100
Todd was born to George Ralph and Iva May Johnston in Brockway, Montana, on May 25, 1917. She joined her brother Jack and later a sister Annette and brother Merrill. Todd went to a country school with very few kids. She herded sheep for her dad in the summers and for awhile after she finished school.
She met and married James Allen Kinniburgh in 1934. They moved to the Fort Peck area where Jim worked on the Fort Peck dam. During that time they were blessed with three sons and a daughter. When the job was done Todd and Jim moved to Marion. For several
years they were caretakers in the winter for the NYA camp, which is now Lions camp on Bitterroot Lake. They lived in the office building and had to move out in the summer when the camp was in use.
They purchased land and home where Todd resided until she moved to Kalispell in 2005. Jim passed away in 1965. Todd then went to work at the Marion store and post office.
She met David Miller and they were married in 1968.
Todd was very talented. She made many of the children’s clothes, and sewed for friends and family. She sewed wedding dresses,
formals and everything you can think of, seldom using a pattern. She baked and decorated many wedding and birthday cakes. She knitted, crocheted, tatted, and made many quilts and afghans that she gave to family and friends.
Todd was preceded in death by her mom and dad, all siblings, both husbands, her sons Jim and Ken, and a daughter-in-law Robbie Kinniburgh.
She is survived by her daughter Betty and her husband Bob Jenkins, and her son Bob; also daughters-in law Arlette Kinniburgh and Barbara Brown; and grandchildren Tim, Juli, Shelley, Randy, Laurie, Ryan, Kelli, Lori, Jim, John, Chris, Jamie and Mindy; 12 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
We love you mom. We will miss you forever and are so grateful to have you in our lives for over 100 years.
