A 20-year-old man pleaded not guilty to felony sexual intercourse without consent in Flathead District Court on Thursday.

Daniel Robert Ward Jr. of Kalispell has been released on $15,000 bond.

According to court documents, the Kalispell Police Department spoke with the victim on April 27. The victim alleged that Ward had sexual intercourse with her in a bathroom in November 2015. At the time of the reported incident, the victim was 13 years old and Ward was 18. Due to the victim’s age at the time of the alleged sexual intercourse she was not able to consent, according to court documents.

Since the victim was less than the age of 16 at the time of the offense and the defendant was three or more years older than the victim, offenses may be punishable according to state statute.
