'Yuppies' give Bigfork man problems
A Bigfork man told Flathead County Sheriff’s officers he wanted to get a reaction from the “yuppies” who allegedly give him problems, which he said is why he set up a target across a roadway and started firing at it. Officers told the man the message had been received.
A person told officers that a neighbor advertising huckleberries via cardboard signs on the side of the U.S. 2 could create litter if the signs were to fall down. When officers reached the person selling Montana’s wild berries, the owner said they felt the complaint was “stirring up competition.”
An officer told a young man who called about a bike that had been taken that “he needs to be more responsible,” according to county call logs. “I asked the [caller] why he wanted his bike back when he seems to leave it other places and unattended without being locked up,” the call logs stated. Allegedly, the bike owner found his property and those who had the bike said he had to pay $75 to get it back. The bike owner said he didn’t pay the money but did leave with his bike.
A Marion man told officers he would take the keys of their four-wheeler away from his son after the boy allegedly disobeyed and once again drove the vehicle through a field against current fire restrictions.
A resident on Silver Leaf Drive in Kalispell sought extra patrol when they found their back door open. The caller said that while it looked like nothing was missing from the home, the door had been locked the night before.
A man reported there were items stolen from his truck while it was parked at the Spencer Mountain trailhead, including his wallet and things from his tool box.
A man reported he found a mountain bike roughly a mile upstream from the Bigfork dam near the village’s bike path. He described it as a gray bike with big tires.
A Kalispell woman told officers her credit card had been used in several places in Montana and Minnesota and she believed it was a case of fraud.
An allegedly friendly black dog with a gray collar was found on East Reserve and Mountain View Drive. The small, neutered, male dog was transported to the Flathead County Animal Shelter.
Someone reported suspicious activity to Whitefish Police when they saw kids playing Pokemon Go near the police department.
A Whitefish resident said a house that had allegedly been abandoned for months was recently opened and now they could see a couch on the roof.
Kalispell Police looked for an allegedly naked man standing by a bike path.
A Kalispell resident told officers they were concerned for a woman who stopped by their house during door-to-door sales. They said the woman looked nervous and kept looking behind her as if she was being watched.
A man trying to rent a Kalispell place for $600 said he had sent $300 to the person who listed the place for rent before realizing it may be a trick and the house wasn’t for rent.
