Judy Carr, 75

| August 12, 2017 6:12 PM

Judy Carr, 75, passed away on Jan. 29, 2017, in Omaha, Nebraska, due to a month-long battle with respiratory failure.

Judy was born in Kalispell on Dec.12, 1941. She was the second to the youngest of seven children born to Edward and Cecilia Lyonais. Judy attended grade school at St. Matthew’s and high school at Flathead High School.

On Nov.29, 1959, Judy married Glen Carr at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church. For 10 years she faithfully supported her husband as he served in the United States Navy.

After being discharged from the service they traveled a bit and eventually settled in San Marcos, California, where they created Glen Carr Blasting Company. In 1976, they welcomed their first child, Glen, and in 1978 a daughter, Dianna, was born.

Judy moved her family back to Kalispell in 1984 upon the unfortunate death of her husband Glen Carr, where she could be surrounded by her caring and supportive large family. She had a variety of jobs — painting wooden ducks, making wreaths at Snow Line and lastly, working at Semitool.

For 20 years, July regularly attended and was involved in Risen Christ Catholic Church. She truly loved and valued the friendships that were created.

Judy had a passion for genealogy that sent her traveling, interviewing family, and discovering old documents. She had a great love and respect for America, which she passed onto her children. Judy fully supported her son in 1997 and her daughter in 2008 when they joined the United States Army.

Judy was preceded in death by husband Glen Carr, great-granddaughter Ki’Ja Bassett, parents Edward and Cecilia Lyonais, siblings Jim Lyonais, Gail (Lyonais) Mitchell and Doris (Lyonais) Davis, along with in-laws, Don Burnell and Michael Neal.

Judy is survived in death by her two children and families — her son Glen Carr II, his wife Athena Carr, and their daughter Jaquavia; and her daughter Dianna (Carr) Majors, her husband Andrew Majors, and children Abigail, Kiera, Aiden, A.J. and Glen. Judy is also survived by siblings, Janice (Lyonais) Burnell, Patti (Lyonais) and Jim Slack, and Chris (Lyonais) Neal.

A rosary service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 14, at Risen Christ Catholic Church followed by services at 11 a.m. A luncheon will be served after Mass and interment will follow at Glacier Memorial Gardens.

The family is asking in lieu of flowers that donations in her honor be made to Risen Christ Catholic Church, 65 West Evergreen Drive, Kalispell, MT 59901.
