Bigfork sweeps Seeley-Swan

BIGFORK — Bigfork jumped out to a 29-6 first-quarter lead on Seeley-Swan and never looked back en route to a 66-29 nonconference boys basketball victory on Tuesday evening.

It was the season opener for Bigfork.

Randy Stultz scored all seven of his points in the opening stanza to get Bigfork off to the fast start.

Anders Epperly led Bigfork, and all scorers, with 15 points. He tallied nine in the third quarter as Bigfork held a commanding 62-18 lead.

He also led the Vikings in assists with 10.

Logan Taylor and Logan Gillard both tallied 10 points for Bigfork.

Beau Santistevan had eight points and a team high eight rebounds for the Bigfork.

Bigfork heads for Shelby and the Tip-Off Tournament on Friday. The Vikings play Shelby at 9 p.m. Friday and Shepherd on Saturday at 11 a.m.

WHITEFISH — Ryan Kemm and Lee Walburn both scored 17 points to power Whitefish to an easy nonconference victory over Eureka.

It was the season opener for Whitefish.

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 28-5 advantage and led 44-13 at the half.

Sam Menicke and Dillon Botner topped Whitefish in rebounding with eight each.

AJ Pacella had 13 points for Eureka.

Whitefish heads for Missoula and the Tip-Off Tournament versus Butte Central on Friday at 2:30 p.m. and Dillon on Saturday at 6:45 p.m.

TROY — Troy was in charge from the opening tip, leading 11-4 and 28-13 after the first two quarter stops for an easy nonconference win over Stillwater Christian School.

Trevor Hoagland topped Troy in scoring with 18 points. Jeremiah Hoder had eight points to pace Stillwater Christian.

Stillwater Christian hosts Eureka for a nonconference test on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.

BIGFORK — Bigfork opened the season with an impressive nonconference romp over Seeley-Swan.

Bigfork led 37-14 at the half and turned the game over to the reserves after that.

Jaime Berg had 18 points for Bigfork. Shae Anderson was next with nine and Ansleigh Edgerton added eight.

Bigfork had 24 steals with Anderson claiming a team high five.

Berg also led the team in rebounding with nine.

Bigfork will play Shelby on Friday at 1 p.m. and Malta on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Tip-Off Tournament in Shelby.

WHITEFISH — Eureka used the 1-2 offensive punch of Erryn Thier and Sienna Utter to knock off Whitefish for its first victory of the season in a nonconference contest.

Thier lead all scorers with 16 points. She also had a team best four rebounds.

Utter tallied 15 points.

Eureka (1-2) never trailed.

Maggie Graves had a team high five steals to go with five points for the victorious Lions.

Marlee Bender topped Whitefish in scoring with 13 points.

Whitefish will head for Missoula and a Tip-Off Tournament with single games on Friday and Saturday.

TROY —After a slow-start, Troy pulled away to down Stillwater Christian School in a nonconference game.

Troy’s Aurora Becquart lead all scorers with 11 points. Katelynn Tallmadge added nine for the victors.

Helen Hashley and Lulu Neumann both had six to pace Stillwater.

Stillwater is back in action with another nonconference outing on Saturday at home versus Eureka at 4 p.m.
