School district receives donation from new Chamber award
The Evergreen School District athletic program was given a $500 donation in memory of Brent Hall.
Hall was posthumously named the first recipient of the Brent Hall award established by the Evergreen Chamber of Commerce to honor the longtime businessman and community leader who died in March at 76.
Hall’s family accepted the award on his behalf and chose to donate the monetary gift to the school district as a way to continue his legacy of giving during and Evergreen Chamber of Commerce event on Thursday.
“The donation will help us improve our facilities and benefit students for years to come,” said Evergreen Junior High Principal and district Athletic Director Andy Fors. “We are honored to help celebrate the life of Brent Hall and his service to our community.”
Evergreen School District’s athletic facilities include a fitness room, football field and cross-country track.
Hall worked in Evergreen for more than four decades and during that time became known for his volunteer work — having served on numerous boards — and charitable efforts in addition to his involvement in athletics.
“He was always very generous with his time and resources,” said Evergreen Chamber of Commerce President Ken Kalvig. “He was supportive of the community, school systems and the Flathead Valley workforce.”
