Prep Basketball Dillon boys edge C-Falls in OT

MISSOULA — Dillon outscored Columbia Falls in the fourth quarter and overtime to claim a 41-39 victory in Tip-Off Tournament boys basketball play on Friday at the University of Montana.

The tournament pits teams from the Northwest Conference against the Southwest.

Dillon’s Mike Haverfield and Columbia Falls’ Matthew Morrison tied for scoring honors with 14 points each.

Columbia Falls led 25-18 at the half.

Tournament play continues today.

MISSOULA — Libby stayed close for one quarter before Hamilton pulled away for a lopsided victory at the Tip-Off Tournament.

Hamilton, up 26-15 after the first quarter, blew the game open with a 32-point second quarter for a 58-21 halftime lead.

Libby’s Ryggs Johnston led all scorers with 23 points.

Hunter Omlid and Tanner Goligoski had 17 each for Hamilton.

MISSOULA — Whitefish never got on track offensively and Butte Central took advantage of that for an easy victory in the Tip-Off Tournament.

Luke Heaphy had 13 points for Butte Central while Matt Simkins and Dan McCloskey had 12 each.

Alex Keuylion led Whitefish with five.

Shade Main scored 14 points, Connor Lanier had 12 and Asa Askan 11 for the Pirates.

Zach Jessop netted 14 and Ryal Jessop 11 for Corvallis.

Alex Gavlak had 18 points for Stevensville and Colby Needs tallied 11.

MISSOULA — A strong third-quarter helped Ronan top Stevensville at the Tip-Off Tournament.

Ronan outscored Stevensville 18-6 in the third for a 41-27 edge.

Ronan’s Micalann McCrea and Louetta Conko Camel tied for scoring honors with 17 points each. Maddie Weber had 13 for Stevensville.

SHELBY — Abby Ellison knocked down 13 points, Jaime Berg netted 14 and Rakiah Grende added 11 as Bigfork slammed Shelby at the Tip-Off Tournament.

Berg pulled down a team-high nine rebounds and Grende was next with seven.

Abbey Aklestad finished with 16 points to pace Shelby. She was 14 of 20 from the free-throw line.

Bigfork (2-0 overall) plays Malta today at 10 a.m.
