Linda Lee Bakeberg, 79

Linda Lee Bakeberg, 79, died peacefully at home near Seattle, Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017. The cause was heart failure.

Born May 25, 1938, in Garrison, North Dakota to Herbert and Frances Callies, Linda grew up in Whitefish and graduated from Whitefish High School in 1956.

She lived in Seattle and Anchorage, Alaska, before finally moving back permanently to the Seattle area.

Linda was a crossword puzzle enthusiast who loved literature and music of all kinds. Reading was her passion; she was rarely without a book close at hand.

Survivors include her daughters, Mary Carson of Everett, Washington, and Julie Ferris of Issaquah, Washington; grandchildren, Michael Kelly and Nichole Carson; sister, Janet Card, of Glen Allen, Virginia; brother, Tom Callies, of Whitefish; nieces, Susie, Shawna and Meghann, and nephew Philip; and great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Alexi and Zoie.

A private family memorial will be held in Montana in the spring.
