Kenney, FVHS nip Stillwater
Only three Flathead Valley Homeschool players scored, but the trio provided enough to beat Stillwater Christian 33-31 in a crosstown showdown at Stillwater Christian School on Friday night.
Stillwater jumped out to an 11-6 lead after the first quarter, but the Crusaders chipped away at the deficit to tie the game after the third quarter before taking their first lead of the game in the final period. FVHS drained 9 of 13 free-throw attempts in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.
Freshman Codi Kenney scored a game-high 18 points for FVHS. Senior Karissa Williams added eight and was a perfect 6 of 6 from the charity stripe. Freshman Corey Connerly chipped in seven points to round out the scoring for the Crusaders.
Stilwater’s scoring was more balanced, as seven players contributed.
Selah Neumann led the way with seven. Victoria Hanson and Cora Boll scored six apiece. Helen Hashley tallied three blocks for the Cougars.

Glacier held visiting Great Falls under 10 points in each quarter as the Wolfpack rolled to a victory in the Class AA clash.
Ellie Stevens and Kali Gulick each had 10 points for the Wolfpack, which outscored the Bison 30-11 in the second half. Aubrie Rademacher and Anna Schrade poured in seven points apiece.
Glacier wraps up its pre-Christmas schedule with a matchup against Bozeman at home on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

POLSON — Marlee Bender poured in 20 points and Whitefish held Polson to a combined 10 points in the second and third quarters in a road victory.
Payton Kastella added 11 points for the Bulldogs, who led 26-20 at halftime and pulled away by outscoring the Pirates 12-3 in the third quarter.
Jaycee Frydenlund paced Polson with 17 points.

RONAN — Tamika Guardipee scored 17 points to lead Browning to a win over Ronan in a Northwest A conference matchup.
The Indians jumped out to 14-6 lead after the first quarter, but Ronan fought back to trail by just one point at halftime. Browning pulled away for good by outscoring the Chiefs 22-5 in an explosive third quarter.
Dulci Skunkcap scored 13 points for Browning.
Micalann McCrea paced Ronan with 18 points.

Flathead Valley Homeschool locked down on defense in the final three quarters and pulled away late to capture a win over Stillwater Christian.
Deadlocked at 26 at halftime, the Crusaders allowed just 10 points in each of the final two quarters after allowing only eight in the second quarter. Meanwhile, they pulled away thanks to strong scoring performances from Spencer Burden (20 points), Jordan Wininger (19) and Caleb Gwynn (14).
Zack Basnett led the Cougars with 11 points.

GREAT FALLS — Glacier led by eight after three quarters, but Great Falls scored 31 points in the final 12 minutes of play to escape with an overtime win in the Class AA matchup at Great Falls High.
Collin Kazmier earned scoring honors for the Wolfpack with 13 points, including a perfect 4-for-4 mark from the charity stripe.
Alex Whitman added eight points for Glacier. Caden Harkins, Brec Rademacher and Kody Jarvis chipped in seven apiece.
Glacier’s balanced offensive effort wasn’t enough to overcome the Bison’s high-scoring trio of Blake Thelen (17 points), Hunter McKinney (15) and Kendall Kynett (14).
The Wolfpack returns to the hardwood at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, hosting Bozeman.

POLSON — Polson trailed 8-0 to start, but roared back for the Class A Northwest Conference victory over Whitefish.
Polson (3-1, 1-0) went on top 13-8 after the first period and was in front 28-13 at the half.
Shade Main scored 12 of his game-high 21 points in the third period for Polson, who pulled away for the easy win.
Lee Walburn topped Whitefish in scoring with 13 points.
