A 21st century Lone Ranger

Someone called the Whitefish Police Department to report a lone man cruising across people’s private property boundaries on an old ATV. He was reportedly smoking a cigarette and wearing old Carhartts and no helmet.

A caller reported they had left a small, decorated Christmas tree in their front yard and someone stripped the decorations and smashed them all over the ground.

Another person called because someone was walking a dog near their house that was not on a leash. The dog wasn’t doing anything nefarious, the reporting party was just mad that rules weren’t being followed.

A shop owner called because a man was stumbling around in their store and had a hard time inserting his card into the chip reader when it came time to pay. The man in question then drove away in a red Toyota Tundra.

The manager of a Whitefish business called to report an old Ford Explorer that had been parked behind the business for days. The vehicle was missing a tire and had the back window broken out, and also had a dog tied to the steering wheel. The dog was liberated by law enforcement and given food and water.

One caller stated they had a restraining order against an individual who had liked several of their posts on Instagram and Facebook. The caller thought this was a violation of the restraining order and asked for police intervention.

Someone reported a big gray truck speeding and unsafely passing people on Big Mountain Road en route to Whitefish. The truck had a bumper sticker that read “Stripes to you” and another with a Skull Church emblem, which is a religious program organized by Fresh Life Church.
