Why does Tester opposes tax cuts?

In the recent vote on tax legislation, Sen. Jon Tester, D-Montana, voted against reducing taxes for Montanans. When I spoke with his aide in the Kalispell office, I was told that Mr. Tester believes that cutting my taxes would increase the federal deficit. He showed no concern for the deficit when he cast the deciding vote in favor of Obamacare. Mr. Tester often claims to support Montana values and that he wants to accomplish what is best for our state. I explained to his aide that in the 1980s, President Reagan lowered taxes and the federal revenue almost doubled. When Montanans are “allowed” to keep more of their own money, it (the money) will be better managed than if it is sent to Washington.

Mr. Tester consistently votes as the Democrat leadership instructs him, as illustrated by his party line vote opposing a significant tax cut.

Please remember that our senator with “Montana values” also voted for President Obama’s Iran deal, which sent billions of our tax dollars to that terrorist regime.

Soon, Mr. Tester will again tell us how he is a simple rancher from Big Sandy, who wants the best for Montana. He will tell us how he works across the aisle with both parties. He will also tell us that he would support a tax cut if ...

I believe it is time that we elect someone who is more interested in the people of Montana than in the politics of Washington, D.C.
