Blacktail Mountain to open ski slopes Saturday
After some long-awaited snowfall, Blacktail Mountain will open on Saturday, Dec. 23.
The ski area above Lakeside, which uses entirely natural snow, had been dry most of December, but it logged 2 feet of new powder this week — including 13 inches on Tuesday. Ski area spokesperson Arin Lever said 100 percent of the resort’s terrain will be open Saturday.
The resort will be open every day through Jan. 1.
Lifts will begin spinning at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Adult tickets cost $42 for a full day and $36 for a half day; prices are reduced for children, teens, seniors and those with a college or active military ID.
Under Blacktail’s “Fifth for Free” tradition, fifth-graders receive a free day ticket with documented proof of their grade, such as a report card or teacher’s note.
