St. Ignatius student in custody following school lock down

St. Ignatius schools were put on a lock down Wednesday after a student allegedly made a bomb threat.

According to Lake County Sheriff Don Bell, a juvenile suspect was arrested and taken into custody.

The student had reportedly been making threats to other students prior to the lock down, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office school resource officer. These threats were reported to school administration and the school resource officer.

The schools were placed on lock down for about 20 minutes while an investigation was conducted. Officers determined there was no imminent danger to students or staff.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is not releasing the identity of the juvenile suspect.
