County drops asking price for Kalispell Sr. Center
After receiving no bids at a Dec. 7 public auction for the former Kalispell Senior Center, Flathead County has dropped the price and will try again to sell the property.
The auction begins at 9 a.m. on Jan. 17 in the commissioner chambers on the third floor of the courthouse, 800 S. Main St. in Kalispell. Bidding starts at $315,000.
The property includes two city lots where the Kalispell Senior Center and a rental home previously were located. The former senior center is a former church building that was used by the Kalispell seniors for a number of years. It is located on a corner lot at 403 Second Ave. W. An older home and accessory building at 411 and 411 1/2 Second Ave. W., also are included in the auction. The properties owned by the county and have an appraised market value of $450,000. They are being sold “as is,” according to a county sale notice.
Terms of the sale are 20 percent cash due at the time of sale, with the balance due within 10 days or the buyer will forfeit the 20 percent down payment.
The Kalispell Senior Center relocated to the county’s South Campus Building when that facility opened last year at 40 11th Ave. W.
