COLUMBIA FALLS — Kiara Burlage led a balanced Class A Columbia Falls offense with 19 points as the Wildkats cruised by Class B Bigfork 63-21 in nonconference girls basketball play Thursday evening.

Peyton Kehr followed with 14 points and Cydney Finberg was next with 13 for the winners.

Columbia Falls (13-1) jumped out to a 19-0 lead and was comfortably on top 36-8 at intermission.

Jaime Berg netted nine points to lead the Valkyries (9-6).

“Obviously our defense came out and played very well, set the tone,” Columbia Falls coach Cary Finberg said.

“We had an opportunity to play a lot of different kids. It was a good win for us.”

Polson visits Columbia Falls on Saturday while Bigfork plays at Troy.

Josee Applegate led Deer Lodge (9-6, 6-3) with 11 points.

POLSON — Class A Polson (3-11) exploded for 23 first-quarter points and went on to defeat Class B Eureka (8-6) in a nonconference outing.

Eureka played Polson on even terms after that.

Lauren Lefthand had 22 points and Kaelyn Smith 13 for Polson. Mollie Fisher and Mikayla Croft both added 11.

Erynn Their tallied 13 points and Maggie Graves 11 for Eureka.

EUREKA — Class A Polson piled up the points in the opening half — 51— en route to an easy nonconference victory over Class B Eureka.

Polson (9-5) was up 51-21 at the half and outscored Eureka 35-25 for the remainder of play.

Matthew Rensvold tallied a game-high 25 points for Polson. Tanner Wilson had 21 and Jeremiah North Piegan 15.

Riley Durham had 13 points and Colton Cooper 10 for Eureka.

BIGFORK — A strong second half allowed Class B Bigfork to upend Class A Columbia Falls (2-12) in a nonconference contest.

Leading 22-21 at the half, Bigfork (12-3) outscored the Wildcats 39-27 in the second half.

Logan Gilliard and Beau Santisteven shared scoring honors for Bigfork with 15 each. Anders Epperly totaled 13.

Logan Stephen claimed 15 points to pace Columbia Falls.
