Linda Rae (Nelson) Spencer, 74

| February 4, 2017 6:00 PM

Linda Rae (Nelson) Spencer, 74, a longtime resident of the Whitefish area, died Jan. 29, 2017, at Diamond Retirement Living in Henderson, Nevada. She and Ronald G. Spencer were married for 25 years, and he departed this life roughly two years ago.

Born in 1942 in Salt Lake City, Linda worked on a bachelor’s degree at Brigham Young University, and later at Montana State College (Bozeman), but stopped short to pursue a career with Pacific Northwest Bell. She was a graduate of Kinman Business School (Spokane) where she studied clerical, typing and secretarial functions. Linda drove a school bus for the Cheney, Washington, school district for years and was credited with safe driving and no accidents during her long tenure.

Linda loved good food and socializing, enjoyed going outdoors, spending time at the local Moose Lodge, playing games with friends, and had a wonderful laugh that could light up a room.

She is survived by her two sons, Mark and Scott Kirklin; and several grandchildren, and even three great-grandchildren, all of whom live in western United States, and brought great joy to her in later years.

A visitation will be held at 10 a.m. and funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home, 1890 Highway 93 N., in Kalispell, for friends and love ones.

Interment will be at Glacier Memorial Gardens, 2659 U.S. Highway 93 N., Kalispell, with a reception to follow for all attendees.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Whitefish Moose Lodge, 230 W. 10th St., Whitefish, MT 59937.
