He was born July 26, 1935 in Kalispell to Clinton F. and Della M. Spindler. He grew up in Kalispell where he graduated from Flathead High School. He loved hunting and fishing and could always tell a tall tale of his adventures. Chuck enjoyed many hours at the Forest Service lookout towers during summer and working on their farm. Together they formed C&J Construction until his retirement in 1995. His longtime wish was to retire to Montana where they settled in Stevensville.

Chuck joined the Masonic Lodge Nov. 2, 1983 where he went on to become a 33rd Degree Mason. He was actively involved in all bodies of the Masonic organization, including York Rite, Scottish Rite and the Shriners. He was most proud of helping to organize the Scottish Rite Speech Therapy Clinic in Missoula.
