Pamela Christine Schreckendgust Derrickson Howe, 61
Pam passed away on Feb. 17, 2017, after a lengthy battle with heart disease with her family at her side.
Pam was born July 15, 1955 in Missoula to James and Gladys Schreckendgust and was the third of four children. In 1959 Jim and Gladys moved their family from Missoula to Kalispell and there they raised their four children until Gladys passed away in 1976. Jim later re-married Sandy Jones of Kalispell and together they gave us Christina Schreckendgust in 1978.
Pam attended Evergreen Schools and Flathead High School in Kalispell. When Pam finished school she married Jay Derrickson and they welcomed daughter Denise Derrickson on Sept. 18, 1973. Pam and Jay later divorced and Pam married Steve Howe of Colorado. Pam and Steve were married a few years and divorced.
Pam then met the love of her life Joseph (Joe Joe) Davis, when Pam decided to go back to school in Havre to become a CNA. Pam and Joe shared 15 years together, fishing, camping and traveling until Joe’s death in 2016.
Throughout her life Pam worked at several different restaurants throughout Kalispell and eventually retired as a CNA from the Montana State Veteran’s Home in Columbia Falls in 2013.
After Pam retired, she and Denise moved to Florida to enjoy the warm weather and the year round fishing.
Pam was proceeded in death by both her maternal and paternal grandparents as well as her father, Jim and mother, Gladys.
Pam is survived by her daughter Denise Derrickson of Titusville, Florida; her brother James and wife Judy Schreckendgust of Kalispell; her sister Tina and husband Randy Norris of Kalispell; her brother Charlie Schreckendgust and husband Steven Skidmore of Ocoee, Florida; her sister Christina and husband Tim Shaver of Kalispell; her nephews James Schreckendgust and significant other Chris Araiz and Jason and wife Lisa Schreckendgust of Kalispell; her very special niece Chandra and husband Shane Schnetter of Kalispell; niece Cassy Schreckendgust of Kalispell; nephew Riley Shaver and niece Emma Shaver of Kalispell, along with having several great nephews and nieces that will miss their aunty Pam immensely. Pam left behind several cousins, aunts and uncles and friends too numerous to mention.
Pam was also a special mom to Lyndsey and husband Eric Pieffer of Kalispell and Gramma Pam to Denali Peterson of Ely, Nevada. And Lyric Pieffer of Kalispell.
Pam’s choice was to be cremated and to have her ashes spread with her mother and her Joe Joe.
A celebration of Pam’s life will be held this summer in Kalispell. Details will be forthcoming. In lieu of flowers the family has set up a GoFundMe page on Facebook or donations can be made at any Whitefish Credit Union location under Pam Howe Memorial Fund to help assist the family with final expenses.
