Laura Lea (Green) Djonne, 71

Laura Lea (Green) Djonne, 71, passed away Jan. 27, 2017, after a brief illness surrounded by her family.

She was born Sept. 23, 1945, in Whitefish to Gordon and Thelma Green. She attended school in Columbia Falls and in 1960 she married Walt Webster and had two children, Walt and Vicki. The family purchased the Dam Town Tavern in 1971. Laura tirelessly ran the bar until 2014 and along the way helped start the Canyon Kids Christmas which she spearheaded until her departure in 2014. In 1985 she married Buck Djonne and they resided in Columbia Falls until her death.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Walt Webster, her parents Gordon and Thelma Green, brother Larry Green; and sister-in-law Debbie Green.

She is survived by her husband, Buck; children, Walt and Terri Webster, and Vicki and Ryan Watmough; stepchildren, Penny and Bob Hardy, and Marvin Djonne; brothers, Richard and Karen Green, John Green, and Terry and Deanna Green; grandchildren, Scott, Justin and Kyle Lingle, Jeremy Webster, Devin Chappel, Brittney Gietzen and Nicole Chappel; and numerous nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.

There will be a viewing from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 3, from at Columbia Mortuary. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4, at Columbia Mortuary. There will be a potluck reception following at 3 p.m. at the Eagles Club in Columbia Falls.
