LIBBY — The Libby Loggers exploded for 18 runs in Game 2 of a doubleheader to finish off a sweep of the Kalispell Lakers A on Monday night.

Libby scored six runs in the first inning off of Kalispell starter Logan Siblerud, who lasted just 1/3 inning, and added six more runs in the third inning of an 18-11 win.

Shayne Walker led a plethora of offensive contributors for the Loggers with three hits, three runs and three RBIs.

Brady Bateman had three hits and scored four runs.

Jesse Dunham and Braydan Thom scored three runs apiece, while Seth Bateman and Raul Rodriguez drove in three each.

Fifteen of Libby’s 18 runs were earned despite six Kalispell errors. The Lakers scored six of their 11 runs thanks to four Logger errors.

Dunham pitched a complete game for Libby, allowing five earned runs on nine hits and five walks. He struck out six.

Nate Vanderbeek had four RBIs and was one of four Lakers with two hits in the nightcap.

In Game 1, Libby scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to walk off with a 5-4 win.

Rodriguez and Seth Bateman each had two hits and an RBI to lead the Loggers. Dunham scored two runs.

Vanderbeek recorded three hits and added a run and an RBI to lead Kalispell, which fell short despite a complete game from Evan Todd.

Todd allowed six hits and all five Libby runs, though only two were earned, and struck out five. Brady Bateman, the Loggers’ starter, also pitched a complete game, surrendering four runs (three earned) on eight hits and two walks.

The Lakers took a 3-2 lead in the fifth, but Libby knotted the game up in the sixth before winning it in the first extra inning.
