Whitefish Credit Union to build Col. Falls facility
Whitefish Credit Union will break ground Monday on a new facility at 405 Ninth St. W. in Columbia Falls.
The new 5,000-square-foot facility will replace the current Columbia Falls branch at 320 Nucleus Ave.
The credit union has seen an increase in membership in the Columbia Falls area, Whitefish Credit Union Chief Financial Officer Mike Blubaugh said.
“We are growing in response to growth in the Columbia Falls area itself, and we look forward to providing our members with an expanded facility that is capable of efficiently and effectively supporting the needs of our members and the community,” Blubaugh said in a press release.
The new branch is expected to open next spring, offering the same services provided at the current branch, plus the addition of an automated teller machine.
State chartered in 1934, Whitefish Credit Union is now the largest credit union in Montana with more than $1.4 billion in assets. Whitefish Credit Union manages seven branches throughout the state, which serve the financial cooperative’s more than 58,000 members.
