The Event at Rebecca Farms will have a new twist added to its slate of events this year.

For the first time, The Event will take place concurrently with the North America Junior Young Rider Championships, also known as the “Junior Olympics” of eventing.

In the past, the championships have been held in larger cities such as Denver and Lexington, Kentucky.

“I could not be more excited for the young riders coming to Rebecca Farm,” said Sarah Broussard, a former Young Rider who now serves as organizer for The Event. “In my experience, nothing beats the rush of excitement while on course, and that incredible feeling of support one gets from both your team and those watching. It is an honor to help facilitate that experience for the next generation of young riders.”

The Young Rider Championships and The Event, America’s largest equestrian triathlon, will run from July 19-23 in Kalispell.

The Event brought 10,000 spectators and an estimated $5.5 million in economic impact to the Flathead Valley in 2016.
