Sandra J. Nordahl, 71

Sandra J. Nordahl, 71, passed away at home in Eureka on July 3, 2017.

She was born on May 18, 1946, in Powers Lake, North Dakota. She was raised on the family farm, raising horses and cattle.

Sandra was a professional barrel racer and horse trainer, and a self-taught artist with paintings that are displayed in the Canadian cowboys’ Hall of Fame.

Sandra fought a courageous battle with cancer for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Erma Blikre; her and her sister, Jackie Blikre, formerly of Powers Lake.

She is survived by her biggest supporter, Jean Nordahl, her husband; her sister, Sharon Jensen, of Fargo, North Dakota; her daughter, Tamra Engle, of Eureka; her stepdaughters, Faith Weed of Kalispell and Kara Cooley of Eureka; and four grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Dr. Goodman and his oncology staff for their excellent care.

The family would also like to thank Frontier Hospice for their excellent care and allowing Sandi to fulfill her final wishes. Thank you, Kim.

Cremation will be handled by Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home of Libby, to be followed by a memorial service at a later date.
