Herbert A. Grant, 80

| July 18, 2017 7:40 PM

Herb Grant, of Bigfork, passed away on July 5, 2017.

He was born in Amesbury, Massachusetts. He graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy, Dartmouth College, and the Tuck Business School. While at Tuck he was in the Marine ROTC Program. After fulfilling his tour of duty, he was honorably discharged as a first lieutenant.

Herb spent most of his career with the Kingston Warren Corporation. Two weeks before his 50th birthday he sold the company and worked on his “somedays.” Because of his love for antique homes, he became involved with Strawbery Banke Museum in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, acting as their president of the board of directors. He also continued to do consulting with niche clients in the insurance field.

Herb bought and restored an antique farmhouse in Rye, New Hampshire, and designed and built a Spanish home at the Estancia Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, where he and his wife, Robin, lived for 25 years. To his great joy, his later years were spent in Bigfork.

Herb leaves his wife of 25 years, Robin Ann Hargreaves. He will be greatly missed by his stepchildren, Elise Cormier, Lauren Cormier, Corey Walker and Chris Walker; and his two grandsons, Randall and Samuel Walker.
