Preventing 'reefer madness' one cookie at a time

A business owner told the Kalispell Police Department that a “booth renter” allegedly brought in a cookie containing marijuana and owed the business money. The person making the complaint reportedly brought in the “chronic” cookie for police to destroy.

Someone saw kids in a vehicle purportedly “emptying a bong.”

Police responded to a report that suspicious activity was ongoing in a “dumpy-looking shed area” with “lots of traffic” and a strange smell emanating from a house. Officers reported nothing illegal visible after doing a drive-by.

It was a matter of public safety when someone reported seeing a tattooed-bicyclist riding the wrong way in a lane of traffic.

A verbal disturbance allegedly resulted in three men threatening one person. The person making the call said one of the men previously threatened to stab him or her.

An allegedly intoxicated woman reportedly hit and damaged another woman’s car. The person making the call believed this to be the case as the woman’s vehicle was parked in front of the damaged car.

Two pigs were running loose in a yard on Fourth Street East North in Columbia Falls. The woman making the call to Flathead County Sheriff’s Office said she was nervous to get out of her truck, concerned that the pigs were dangerous.

It was the ol’ hound dog howl that perturbed a Coon Hollow Road resident in Kila who said bloodhounds were allegedly barking day and night.

A landlord was concerned that tenants in a recently vacated rental in Columbia Falls had been smoking methamphetamine based on “what was left behind.” Officers said that while the unit was very dirty he or she did not see any evidence of a methamphetamine lab.

A vehicle was reported stolen by someone on River Junction in Hungry Horse.

Someone on South Cedar Drive in Kalispell reported that a vehicle with a smashed-out windshield had been parked behind a building over the weekend.

A “hostile driver” was seen allegedly “flipping people off” and “zipping” in and out of traffic.

A man was spotted unloading trash into trees in a parking lot on U.S. 2 East in Kalispell.

A group of Hungry Horse kids who reportedly “jumped” another child were now threatening the child.

A squatter was reportedly living under the Old Steel Bridge where a couch was supposedly located. The suspect told officers he wasn’t living under the bridge and there was no couch. The man was advised about park rules and overnight use and that the area would be checked at night.

A resident on First Avenue South in Hungry Horse reported that her children broke into her house and things were missing. The woman said she had things out for the children to pick up, however, it seemed they did so without her permission.

A physical disturbance was reported on Rogers Lake Road in Kila where a man was reportedly beating up another man and then a woman.

Someone found a “nice set” of golf clubs behind a U.S. 2 East business in Kalispell and thought someone living in an alleged transient camp behind the business stole them and left them. Officers picked up the golf clubs.

A vehicle was reported stolen on Magstadt Lane in Kalispell.

Someone on Steeles Drive in Columbia Falls told officers that a roaming dog allegedly tried to attack his dog when someone came out and started yelling and cursing at him, then shoved him. A woman said the person tried to get his dog to go after the man.

A woman who reportedly sounded intoxicated called to report that someone allegedly smashed out a vehicle window on U.S. 2 East in Hungry Horse. The woman was advised to call back in the morning “when she had a clear head” and that the vehicle owner would need to call in.

Whitefish Police Department received a report of tourists allegedly dumping garbage into a Wisconsin Avenue resident’s container. The resident spoke to the tourist and wanted him cited, reportedly signing a complaint of “theft of services.”

A shirtless man reportedly “singing and hollering” with a guitar and just all around “being obnoxious” on Central Avenue. The man was advised of city ordinances and moved along.

Panhandling was reported on Spokane Avenue.

An allegedly intoxicated man dressed in pajama bottoms was described as “falling-down drunk” on Central Avenue.

A stolen vehicle was reported on Wisconsin Avenue.

A dog owner on Flathead Avenue — who apparently got a notice about his dogs barking during the day — wanted to know what the exact ordinance was because “that is what dogs do.”

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office received a report that someone allegedly slashed the tires of a vehicle on U.S. 2.

Officers responded to a report of someone “shooting through” a person’s residence on Ingram Road.
