Washington man killed in crash near Pablo

A man from Kent, Washington was killed Saturday night in a one-vehicle crash near Pablo after the driver lost control and the vehicle flipped.

The identity of the 47-year-old man who died has not been released.

According to a report by the Montana Highway Patrol, the man was the passenger in an Oldsmobile Cutlass driven by a 70-year-old man from Pablo. The two were headed southbound on an unmarked gravel road when the car went off the right side of the road, flipped and skidded broadside on the driver’s side before tipping and landing on its roof.

The driver was injured, and the passenger was partially ejected and pronounced dead on scene. The passenger was not wearing a seatbelt.

According to the report, alcohol and speed were suspected factors in the crash.
