Cool, rainy weekend ahead
The recent stretch of pleasant spring weather will come to an abrupt end this weekend as a cold front moves across Montana.
Widespread showers and thunderstorms, some severe, will impact the region beginning Thursday night, the National Weather Service in Missoula reports. Heavy rainfall is a concern in Northwest Montana and stronger storms could develop along the Continental Divide near Glacier National Park.
“Some of the stronger storms will be capable of damaging winds and large hail, but all storms could produce heavy rainfall,” the Weather Service warned in a press release Thursday.
A big cool down comes Sunday as high temperatures struggle to get out of the mid-50s. Kalispell should see a high of 52, while mountain locations like Marias Pass will only warm to 44.
Showers are likely Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
