Northwest Montana native Jackson Palmer has released his first book, “The Meek,” on sale now via Amazon.com.

Palmer, who self-published the book under the name J.D. Palmer, is a 2004 graduate of Flathead High School now living in Los Angeles, where he is pursuing a career as an actor. In the meantime, he’s also trying his hand as a novelist.

In “The Meek,” a man, Harlan, is visiting his friend in Los Angeles when the people around him start unexpectedly dying. Harlan finds other survivors of the mysterious illness but learns they are not all to be trusted — and he is forced to commit “questionable acts” to survive.

Harlan’s quest is to make his way through a violent landscape and return to the love of his life and the child she is carrying, without knowing if they are even among the living.

“The Meek” is volume one of an unbound trilogy and was released in early April.

The book is available for purchase in paperback and as an e-book on Amazon.
