Historic Film Club at Central School screening 'Bulworth'

| June 22, 2017 2:00 AM

The 1998 political comedy “Bulworth” is the subject of this month’s Historical Film Club screening at the Museum at Central School, Monday, June 26 at 7 p.m.

There is no charge to attend the screening, although donations will be accepted. Win, beer and pop will also be available for sale. Attendees may bring their own floor pillows, portable chairs or other seating to view the film.

In “Bulworth,” Democratic Senator Jay Bulworth (Warren Beatty) decides to upend the entire system when a new wave of populism threatens to leave him behind. Only by fully embracing his Socialist, everyman ideals does Bulworth manage to reinvigorate his political career, finding himself in the process. Also starring Halle Berry and Don Cheadle, this 1998 film (which was also written and directed by Beatty) premiered to some controversy due to its blunt commentary on race and inequality.

The Museum at Central School is located at 124 Second Ave. E. in Kalispell. For more information, call 406-756-8381.
