New license plate benefits FVCC scholarships
As part of its 50th anniversary celebration, Flathead Valley Community College recently released a new license plate design to support student scholarships.
The license plate is available through the Montana Department of Justice Motor Vehicle Division and can be requested when registering a new vehicle or renewing an existing registration.
The initial cost of obtaining the FVCC license plate is $40, with $30 donated to the Foundation at FVCC. The cost to renew the plate is $30 annually, with 100 percent of the renewal fee going to the foundation.
Created in 1976, the Foundation at FVCC supports scholarships, academic programs and learning facilities. During the 2016-17 academic year, the foundation was able to award more than $1 million in scholarships to students. In addition to proceeds from the license plates, the foundation relies upon business and individual sponsorships, annual and endowed gifts, planned giving, employee giving, capital campaign, and special events such as the Festival of Flavors and the Bibler Home and Garden tours.
