Allan Clark, 92

Allan Clark, 92, passed away March 5, 2017.

Allan was born July 12, 1925, in Kalispell. He was the first of three children born to Ruth (Moore) and DeWitt Clark. They lived on a farm near Lake Blaine.

He graduated from Cayuse Prairie, Flathead High and University of Montana.

He served in the Army in World War II.

In 1949 he married Phyllis Anderson. They were married 64 years when she passed away in 2014.

Allan worked for over 40 years as a certified public accountant, for most of that time in his own firm. He also taught accounting at Flathead Valley Community College. He served in many local organizations including Central Christian Church, Rotary, Flathead Land Trust, Backcountry Horseman, Toastmasters, Flathead and Montana Society of CPAs, Senior Citizens, and Good Sam’s RV Club. Allan’s pastimes and pursuits included horses, wilderness pack trips, RV touring, dancing, Pinochle, farming and a volunteer tax preparer for United Way Tax Service. He was active to the end, attended a swing dance class the day of his stroke.

He was preceded in death by his brother Warren and his wife Phyllis.

He is survived by his sister Elaine in California, children Mary Jo Gardner and Dennis Olson, Brad and Judy Clark, Jennifer and William Crane, all of Kalispell, and Valerie and John Nesemann of Lostine, Oregon, nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Allan’s honor can be made to Flathead Land Trust or Citizens For a Better Flathead.

The service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 19, at Central Christian Church in Kalispell.
