Housing, mixed-use request top Whitefish board agenda
The Whitefish Planning Board has a mixed bag of public hearings on its Thursday meeting agenda, including a commercial building, five-lot subdivision, mixed use complex, two accessory apartments and four rezoning requests by the city to annex more land.
Andree Larose and Henry Elsen are asking for approval of a five-lot residential subdivision called Mountain Maple on just over 4 acres at 325 Haugen Heights. The property is undeveloped and is zoned estate residential.
Jim and Lisa Stack of Whitefish have requested a conditional-use permit to construct a commercial building for use as either a professional office, personal service and/or art gallery at 615 and 625 Wisconsin Ave. Currently there is an existing home on each lot; both of which would be removed to make space for a two-story, 8,000-square-foot building. The Stacks also are proposing a garage accessory building, and the majority of the parking spaces would be covered with a carport.
Mark Panassidi of San Diego, California, is requesting a conditional-use permit to develop a mixed-use building known as Panassidi Flats, at 139 Second St. E. The building will have ground-floor commercial space with six residential units on the second and third floors. Access is off O’Brien Avenue where eight parking spaces are proposed.
Dorinda Gray and Cory Utterback are asking for a conditional-use permit at 802 Columbia Ave.; and Mireille Bierens is asking for a conditional-use permit to build an accessory apartment at 553 Park Ave.
Four hearings involving parcels for annexation include property at 6204/6208 U.S. 93, 1 Tides Way, 250 W. 18th St., 1800 Baker Ave., 285/291 W. 18th St., 235 Good Ave. and 333/345 Jennings Ave.
The board meets at 6 p.m. Thursday at the interim City Hall, 1005 Baker Ave., Whitefish.
