Church expansion, dental office top board agenda
A church expansion along Whitefish Stage Road and plans for a new dental clinic in Lakeside top the Flathead County Board of Adjustment’s April 4 meeting agenda.
Calvary Chapel of the Flathead Valley, located at 2395 Whitefish Stage Road, is asking for a conditional-use permit to expand the church. The property, located just north of the West Valley Fire Station, is within the Highway 93 North Zoning District and zoned suburban agricultural with a 10-acre minimum lot size. Calvary Chapel currently is a non-conforming use.
The church plans to add a 4,250-square-foot addition that will roughly double the size of the facility. A public hearing will be held on the request.
Benjamin and Lindsey Bushnell, owners of Lakeside Dental, are asking for a conditional-use permit to allow the construction and operation of a new clinic and parking lot at 150 Bill Road in Lakeside. The property is located within the Lakeside Zoning District. A dental office has existed at that location since 1976 and is a legally non-conforming use.
A conditional-use permit would allow the Bushnells to replace the existing 2,000-square-foot dental office with a 3,000-square-foot facility. A public hearing will be held.
Two other public hearings are on the board agenda.
One hearing is a request by Betsy Morrison for a zoning variance for minimum yard requirements at 141 Viano Lane, off Rhodes Draw in the West Valley Zoning District. Morrison has placed a manufactured home that is used as caretaker housing about 3 feet from the edge of the 60-foot private road easement.
The other hearing is a request by James Andler for a zoning variance to property within the Peaceful Bay II Zoning District. Andler wants to use the gross acreage of the lot instead of the net acreage in order to subdivide the property at 12 Bayview Drive.
The board meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, in the second-floor conference room of the South Campus Building, 40 11th St. W., Suite 200, in Kalispell.
