Jon Boyd Morrison, 64

| March 25, 2017 7:57 PM

Jon Boyd Morrison, passed away quickly on March 14, 2017, in Somers.

Boyd was born in Evansville, Indiana, on April 10, 1952, to William Frank and Marilyn Jo Morrison. Boyd was the first of five children. Boyd went to Marysville High School and graduated in 1971. In high school Boyd lettered in wrestling and was the Mid 8 Conference Champion in his weight class.

Boyd moved to Kalispell in September 1977 where he became a master rock mason. Consider yourself lucky if your stonework was done by Boyd. He was an artist, a craftsman, a perfectionist. The smallest misplaced stone would drive him crazy and keep him up all night until he could rush back in the morning and get it right.

Boyd enjoyed a wide range of sports and music. If you knew him, you know where and what he was doing on the weekend — watching sports, reading the newspaper and drinking his red wine.

Boyd touched many people in many ways. His reach went far and wide. He would literally give the shirt off his back to a stranger. He had a kind heart and a sweetness to him. Boyd’s laugh was boisterous. In short, “He was a funny guy.” He will be missed; he was loved.

Boyd was preceded in death by his father, William Frank Morrison Jr.; and his brothers, Joel Frank and Matt Ryan Morrison.

Boyd is survived by his mother, Marilyn Jo Morrison; his wife, Joy Morrison; granddaughter, Camille Rosebrook Clark; son, Nathan Clark; sisters, TS and Betsy Morrison; niece, Leslie Jene´ Morrison; nephew, Tucker Connell; great-nephew, Roman Cetiner; Uncle Danny; Aunt Betty Scheller; and many longtime friends.

For those who are wondering, Gia, Boyd’s canine companion, his sidekick, has a new home with a new family and lots of love. Boyd would be happy.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to offset funeral costs can be sent to Darlington Cremation and Burial Service at 3408 U.S. 2 E., Kalispell, MT 59901.
