Infant's death caused by SIDS
Authorities have ruled the cause of death of 7-month-old Kobiya Ivan Joseph Broad of Evergreen as Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).
According to Flathead County Sheriff Chuck Curry, the diagnosis followed a standard investigation and complete autopsy that showed no indications of any other cause.
SIDS is defined as the sudden death of a baby younger than one year that cannot be explained by any known cause.
Officials are still waiting for a full toxicology report on the child, but Curry said he does not expect it to show anything out of the ordinary.
According to Curry, the child’s family, who were not named, are not under investigation and are considered victims.
