Frenchtown rallies by Polson in softball

FRENCHTOWN — Frenchtown rallied for a 6-5 Northwestern A softball league victory over Polson on Friday evening to stay undefeated in league play.

Frenchtown tallied two runs in the botton of the seventh to tie it at 5-all, then scored the game winner in the eighth.

Polson outhit Frenchtown 9-7 with Kaelyn Smith, Hannah Fryberger, Camas Renault and Quinn Motichka with two hits each.

Fryberger doubled and tripled while Motichka doubled twice.

TROY — Plains picked up a pair of Class B softball victories by downing Troy twice.

Jessica Thompson homered for Plains in the second game and drove in three runs.

Jessica Lewis, 2 for 4, tripled for Troy in that contest and finished with three RBIs.

Kaylee Tunison and Kylie Carr both were 3 for 4 for Troy in the opener. Tunsion doubled once and Varr twice.

Grace Dolan, 1 for 3, also doubled for Troy, which finished with 10 hits in the first game.

Moss, Taylor lead Ronan netters in duals

MISSOULA — Bailey Moss and Coleman Taylor won a pair of singles matches to lead Ronan past Cut Bank, 2-1, and Anaconda, 3-0, in boys tennis play on Friday at the Class B-C Duals.

Thomas Yellowbird and Garrett Anderson split their doubles matches for Ronan.
