A man from Spokane Valley, Washington has been charged in Flathead County after authorities allegedly found more than 50 grams of meth in his hotel room.

Charged with criminal possession of dangerous drugs with intent to distribute, Jason Paul Vegas, 41, pleaded not guilty before Flathead District Court Judge Dan Wilson on April 27.

According to court documents, a sheriff’s deputy executed a search warrant in July 2016 for a room at the La Quinta Inn where suspected drug activity was reportedly taking place.

Authorities allegedly found approximately 54 grams of methamphetamine, a digital scale and more than $3,000 in cash in the room where Vegas had reportedly been the sole occupant.

A jury trial was set for Aug. 7.

If convicted, Vegas could face up to 20 years in prison and a maximum fine of $50,000.
