| May 7, 2017 9:09 PM

Eloise McMillan, 93, of Kalispell, died May 4, 2017, in Kalispell.

Eloise was born on June 23, 1923, in DeKalb, Illinois, to William and Hilda Price, the eldest of three children. She met the love of her life, George McMillan at the age of 28 while rollerskating with her friend. They were married shortly thereafter and raised a family of five children, Patricia, Cathy, Vance, Bryan and Wesley.

Her family remembers Eloise as a joyful loving mother, full of kindness, gentleness, selflessness, sweetness, love and light who always offered her children a soft place to land and was always more concerned about everyone else’s needs over her own. They remember a childhood of camping trips, Halloweens with creative handmade costumes, Sunday drives that ended with treats of ice cream cones, Christmases with tinsel filled trees and homemade divinity and the world’s best apple, huckleberry, blueberry and strawberry pies and chocolate cakes. Eloise and George followed their dreams to begin a new chapter of their lives in Kalispell where they built their own home on a parcel of 66 acres of land. Eloise was employed as a secretary at Diamond Wire, Anaconda Copper Company, Glacier National Park, Bank of Columbia Falls and the Welfare Office over the years.

Eloise is survived by daughters Patricia Bremberg, Cathy McKinney, and sons Vance McMillan, Bryan (Cindy) McMillan, Wesley McMillan, 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents, brother, husband George, two daughters-in-law, and one son-in-law.

There will be a closed casket visitation held from 11:30 to noon Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home and Crematory with services to start at noon officiated by Pastor Kurt Rau. Burial will take place directly following the service at Fairview Cemetery in Kalispell. Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home is caring for the family.
