FVCC student and veteran receives check for monument

| May 7, 2017 9:07 PM

On behalf of the Northwest Montana Chapter of the Vietnam Veterans of America, L.D. Gross presented Flathead Valley Community College student and veteran Adam Jones with a check for $1,900 on May 1 to benefit the construction of a Reflections Monument on campus in honor of all of America’s veterans.

FVCC’s Veterans’ Association is accepting submissions of an artist rendering for the Reflections Monument until Sept. 1. A committee will review all submissions and decide upon which concept to pursue. The artist who submits the winning concept will be awarded $500.

The Flathead Valley has the highest concentration of veterans in the state of Montana, and approximately five percent of FVCC students are veterans.

For contest details and artist rendering criteria, visit www.fvcc.edu/veterans-monument or email Samantha Riley at veterans@fvcc.edu.

The VVA and FVCC’s Veterans’ Association are active organizations that promote and support Northwest Montana’s veteran community through various activities.
