Film Club screening 'All the King's Men'
The Museum at Central School’s Historic Film Club is hosting a free showing of the political classic “All the King’s Men,” Tuesday, May 30 at 7 p.m.
Willie Stark (Broderick Crawford) is a model politician, until he’s corrupted by the very system he tries to reform. Based on the cautionary Pulitzer Prize-winning novel (which was in turn based on the life of populist, Depression-era Louisiana Governor Huey Long), the film was nominated for seven Academy Awards in 1949. It won Best Picture, as well as Best Actor and Actress for Crawford and Mercedes McCambridge.
Anyone may attend and there is no charge. Donations will be accepted to help defray the cost of acquiring and showing the films. The movie and popcorn are free; wine, beer, pop and water will be for sale. Seating is provided but film fans can bring their own floor pillows, portable chairs or other comfortable items to sit on.
The Museum at Central School is located at 124 Second Ave E. in Kalispell. For more information, call 406- 756-8381.
